When you are ready, I am here to meet you where you're at and walk alongside you as you discover the potential that is already inside of you.
While food is a universal need, creating a relationship with food and movement that nourishes all aspects of health and well-being requires individualized care. Together, we will peel back the layers of negative beliefs about food and unhelpful behaviors that have kept you stuck. Blending a non-diet approach grounded in the principles of Intuitive Eating and the application of psychotherapy techniques to dietary interventions, we will build a foundation of skills and resources to feel confident in your ability to identify, honor, and meet your body’s needs. It's my goal to create a safe, non-judgemental space that allows you to show up authentically and create sustainable change that brings you closer to living a life in alignment with your values.
During the initial session, we will focus in on what led you to reaching out. We will explore the history of your relationship with food and your body, and review personal and familial medical history, eating behaviors and routine, exercise patterns, etc. This session will end by identifying your goals for nutrition counseling.
Follow-up sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs. Let's breakdown your long-term goals into actionable steps that feel realistic and attainable. Together, we will celebrate progress and work through on-going challenges.
Sessions may include, but are not limited to:
60 minutes
45 minutes
30 minutes
I am currently an in-network provider with BlueCross BlueShield of Texas.
My name is Hannah and I am a Registered Dietitian and iaedp™ approved Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. I am passionate about guiding others to living a life on their terms by breaking free from diet culture, and creating a relationship with food and movement that nourishes all aspects of their health and wellbeing.
I received a Bachelors of Arts in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Business from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Having never been to Texas before, I ventured south to complete my dietetic internship at Texas A&M University. Following my internship, I began my work in the field of eating disorders at the residential level of care with Center for Discovery. I am now in private practice full-time at Hannah Steffen Nutrition Counseling. I currently serve on the board of Houston Eating Disorder Specialists as Conference Co-Chair.
Raised on hotdish, lefse, and a cold glass of milk in a small town in North Dakota, my Midwestern upbringing is a core part of who I am.
